THE FEEL
The name “Town and Country” suggests an easy-going lifestyle, and that’s not far from the truth. Abundant green space envelopes the houses of Town and Country, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind. Neighborhoods offer spacious accommodations and cozy hideaways.
HISTORY
If you were to stand at the intersection of Clayton and Mason Road and travel back in time to 1886 you may be surprised to find out that you would not be standing in Town and Country. Back then Town and Country was known as Altheim, Missouri.
ACCESSIBILITY
The city is conveniently located near interstates 64 and 270, which allows for a comfortable commute to downtown St. Louis, the financial district of Clayton, and Lambert International Airport.
CULTURE
The parks system fosters a sense of community among residents. Throughout the year, Town and Country parks are the site of city events, recreational and education classes, and gallery shows.
ENTERTAINMENT
For shoppers, the Chesterfield Mall is a short drive away. Golfers can tee off at the Bellerive Country Club. And for the foodie, Town and Country has some very nice upscale restaurants worth trying.
SCHOOLS
Town and Country is primarily served by the Parkway School District; however, there are small portions of the neighborhood zoned in Kirkwood and Ladue School Districts. Private schools Christian Brothers College High School and Visitation Academy are also in the neighborhood.
Several well-established private institutions of higher learning are nearby: Principia College, Missouri Baptist University, and Maryville University.
PARKS & REC
Longview Farm Park | The park includes a beautiful farmhouse with surrounding gardens, a stable with horses and pastures, a pavilion, a modern children's playground and tennis court, pond, and paved and mulched trails.
Drace Park | The 9-acre park includes a picnic pavilion, playground, log cabins, and walking trails.
Preservation Park | The City of Town & Country originally acquired 32 acres of land, 20 of which were sold to Christian Brothers College High School (CBC). The CBC Cadet Park was built with athletic facilities available for use by the public.
